What is considered luxury has always depended on the spirit of the times and on how rare a good was. So what is “real” luxury today? And what about tomorrow? We asked ourselves this question together with trend and futurologist Dr. Martina Kühne. Together we examined the different manifestations and phases of the luxury experience. Ulrich Welter stands with his Berlin manufactory for wall uniques for over 30 years for products of the individual and luxurious living and lifestyle. The luxurious “wallpapers” cover the stages of the Oscars as well as stores of Chanel or Christian Dior. With him we talked about the democratization of luxury and the loss of value, materiality and quality. Based on this conversation we held a workshop on this topic for BMW M.
